SCRAPBUJODigital files are made of pixels. Printers place ink or toner on paper. DPI is the instruction that connects those worlds. More pixels per printed inch generally preserve finer edges and texture, provided the original image contains real detail.
Multiply inches by 300. A 12-inch side needs 3,600 pixels. An 8.5-inch side needs 2,550 pixels, and an 11-inch side needs 3,300 pixels. These numbers let you check whether a download can reach the intended size without enlargement.
