How Large Can I Print Digital Scrapbook Paper? Use Our Free DPI Calculator

Quick answer: Divide pixel width and height by the target DPI to find print size in inches. A 3600×3600-pixel file prints at 12×12 inches at 300 DPI. Our free browser calculator performs the conversion and also shows centimeters.

Quick plan

• Find the image pixel dimensions.
• Choose 300 DPI for high-quality paper printing.
• Calculate width and height separately.
• Avoid enlarging beyond the available pixels when fine detail matters.

Common scrapbook examples

A 3600×3600 file equals 12×12 inches at 300 DPI. A 2550×3300 file equals 8.5×11 inches. A 1800×1800 file equals 6×6 inches. The same file can print larger at a lower DPI, but edges and small text may become softer.

Can a 3,000×3,000-pixel file print at 12×12 inches?

At 300 PPI, a 3,000×3,000-pixel square prints at 10×10 inches. At 12×12 inches, those same pixels work out to 250 PPI (3,000 ÷ 12). PPI describes image pixels per printed inch; “DPI” is often used in print listings, though it technically describes printer dots. Adobe explains image resolution for print. This calculation estimates pixel density only; it cannot confirm that a printer accepts 12×12-inch paper or guarantee print sharpness.

What does a 72 DPI tag mean for a 12-inch print?

A 72 PPI tag describes a print-size default; it does not reduce the number of pixels in the file. For example, some 3600 × 3600-pixel ScrapBujo JPGs are tagged at 72 PPI, which corresponds to 50 × 50 inches at that density. To print the same pixels at 12 × 12 inches, set the intended print size to 12 inches without resampling: 3600 ÷ 12 = 300 pixels per inch. This changes the print dimensions, not the image detail. Resampling cannot restore detail that is not in the original pixels.

Test before printing the whole pack

Print a small crop at 100 percent scale and inspect fine lines, text, and watercolor edges. The test reveals printer sharpening, paper color, and ink behavior before you spend time and materials on a full page.
